ABOUT REBOOT MOTION

Reboot Motion enables large organizations to excel in biomechanics at scale. We do this through our expertise in data, physics and biomechanics—delivering metrics, tools, and reports that help front offices, R&D teams, and coaches improve player performance.

We are the biomechanics experts in MLB and are currently expanding to the NBA.

But we need help—first in expanding horizontally across elite sports. Then to move into larger markets like fitness and healthcare.

Specifically, we are looking for someone to:

  1. Get in the weeds with AWS and infrastructure-as-code;
  2. Scale our automated data processing pipeline and maximize its efficiency; and
  3. Solve complex “big data” problems that will only grow as motion capture becomes prevalent across pro sports.

REQUIREMENTS

We have none.

Fine, we have a few.

An ideal candidate has strong experience building complex and scalable containerized applications using Python, Postgresql, and Docker. Additionally, this candidate would be comfortable interacting with and deploying their code using Amazon Web Services (AWS) products such as Lambda and ECS, as well as experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform. Any advanced experience with AWS (in areas such as networking and security), building and documenting RESTful APIs, or working with specific Python frameworks, such as FastAPI, would also be a plus.

Additionally, an ideal candidate would prefer to be a rockstar individual contributor, at least for now. (We view IC work and management as two potential paths, but don't value one over the other.)

  1. Increased our market-leading MLB footprint,
  2. Are well on our way to becoming the biomechanics leader in the NBA, and
  3. Expanded our B2B tech partnerships... and started new ones.

When you started, we had a problem. Our backend lacked the modularity and scalability we needed to make Biomechanics as a Service (BaaS) a reality. You helped change that.

  1. Your attention to detail. Pro teams are power users—building a system that solves all their needs is no easy task.
  2. Your comfort with ambiguity. You know how to solve open-ended problems.
  3. Your desire to learn and teach. You are equally as happy learning about biomechanics as you are teaching us about software.
  4. Your existing knowledge of Python, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps, and your ability to experiment and learn across all three. That didn't hurt either.
